Tall Pair of Chinese Five Claw Dragon Vases
Wonderfully detailed Chinese vases depicting a pair of dragons chasing a flaming pearl. Each vase has an applied porcelain dragon painted with brown scales and spines, with cream and white underneath. Mouths agape as they claw their way up and around the vase each to their respective pearls, above caramel waves and cobalt blue clouds. The vases each have a white crackle glaze with gold painted rings at the base and rim. The pearl is a symbol of wisdom, spiritual energy and power and the dragon represents prosperity and good luck as well as being a rain deity. Size 36" H x 16 1/2" W
Condition: Both dragons have losses to heads and around mouth with old chips and losses, soiling to bases.
