Well Patinated Akuaba Fertility Doll, Ghana
West Africa, Ghana, Asante / Ashanti peoples Akuaba fertility doll of a female with a well encrusted surface. Quite large with a over proportioned circular form head and ribbed neck. The skull with numerous pierced holes around the exterior and scarification detailing to the cheeks. Both hands are pierced and almost crucified with the reverse of the skull having a series of horizontal lines that meet one vertical line at the center with triangular details. Size 14" H x 6" W
