Central Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lega peoples. African wood carved multi-headed abstract figure. The totem figure with a four legged base and a series of twelve carved oval heads with round eyes and some remnants of dark soot of varying pigment. Size 32 1/4" H x 10" W
Piece collected in 1982. Family collection of an esteemed diplomat and ambassador amassed during travel and work circa 1960-1990s in the medical field providing charitable advanced medical care throughout the African continent and internationally.
Condition: wear to legs and with layers of soot from time and use
