French Albacete Navaja Folding Knife, mid 19th c.
Europe, Spanish Colonial style Navaja folding knife, mid 19th century. Navaja sailors knife engraved to the blade with the text - Haudeville En Albacette - meaning made in Albacete the city of Thiers, France circa 1860. Very wide blade knife with a single edge slightly curved and double edged to a fine point at the forward section. Handle in gilt brass with beautifully tinted red horn inset panels. Unbroken panels in great condition overall. Size 17 1/4" L, blade 8" L
