Medieval Quillon Dagger with Ring-Pommel, 14th C.
Very Scarce Medieval Quillon Dagger with Ring-Pommel, circa 1350-90 probably Italian or German. Double edge blade without any filler well preserved. Diamond cross-section. Light flare at the guard. Handle pierced with six punched holes. Well formed ring pommel. Very rare and quite early medieval dagger reminiscent of Viking blades designed to be hung from clothing. Size 15 1/2" L, blade 10" L For a Similar Example see the published book Daggers and Fighting Knives of the Western World: From the Stone Age till 1900" by Harold L. Peterson. The book references as image #24 "The Quillon Dagger with ring pommel" as late fourteenth century and housed at the time as in the Schweizerisches Landesmuseum, Zurich, Switzerland.
