Islamic Ablution Illuminated Manuscript & Painting, 17th c.
European framed Arabic illuminated manuscript and painting on paper. The illustration depicting a beautiful lady and husband washing her feet an act of ablution. The reveres with a well written script worshiping Allah with quotes. Reverse roughly translated to "Everyone who believes in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers - We do not make a distinction between them and anyone who forgets. And they say, "We hear and we obey." See, O you who have believed, and Allah has not created the most beautiful ones. What has happened to them? He has shown us and we have made mistakes when He carried you against those before us and against the disbelieving people. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say, "And indeed, it was We who sent down the Criterion, that the religion is clear and just." Probably 2:285 of the Quran. Size sight 6 1/4" H x 4" W, in frame 10 1/2" H x 8 1/4" W
