Carved Wood Crusader Knight, 18th - 19th C
European, German or English old example of a wood carved crusades period knight with full chainmail and armour with helmet and sword on his hip. Carved from a single piece of wood with great attention to detail, lovely aged patina throughout. Size 15" H
Crusades began as early as 1096 and initially resulting in the capture of Jerusalem in 1099 and followed with a number of additional campaigns by Christian armies thru the 13th century.
