"Lenin in Smolny in 1917 (Brodsky)" Large Scale OOC
Original oil on canvas replica of the masterwork “Lenin in Smolny in 1917 " by Brodsky. Completed under contract for Affairs of the Arts USSR This large-scale piece has hung in the Russian Embassy in Mexico and now comes to auction from a prominent NY Estate. Dimensions: 5 feet 6 inches wide x 4 feet high. The painting, Lenin in Smolny by Isaak Brodsky (1883-1939), became an iconic artwork symbolizing the early years of Soviet Realism. The painting was done after Lenin's death and was intended to canonize the image of the leader of the world proletariat.
