UPDATED PROVENANCE: Original oil on canvas replica of a masterwork depicting - Red Guard Soldier - Russian Civil War propaganda art. Completed under contract for Affairs of the Arts USSR. Vintage condition: will require preservation of original canvas to maintain the integrity of this large-scale work. Dimensions: 5 ft 6 in x 4 ft 3 inches. Part of a collection believed to be from the Russian Embassy in Mexico, removed most likely during the renovation in the early 1990s (1991-94) after the fall of the USSR, at the time of the formation of The Russian Federation. Later discovered in California when the consignor paid in excess of six figures for the set.
