A selection of Five (5) Japanese woodblock print books from the Showa period or earlier will be presented. These books are from the Ethel Traphagen (1882-1963) Collection. Ethel Traphagen was the founder of the Traphagen School of Fashion (1923-1991).

This is a no-reserve auction and items can be shipped worldwide.

Labeled Booklet Japanese Design Wave Motion Plates on Mulberry Paper from The Ethel Traphagen Collection

26 Folded mulberry sheets, each containing multiple block plate patterns in ink.  There is creasing, some edge chipping and browning, as well as several of the sheets are detached from the binding.  The booklet measures 6 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches.
