Rare photographs documenting the execution of Nazi spy Richard Jarczyk. April 1945


Seven original large photographs documenting all stages of the execution of the Nazi spy Richard Jarczyk. Following an investigation by the U.S. Army on charges of equipment damage and killing of U.S. soldiers, Richard was tried by the U.S. Army Tribunal, pleaded guilty, and executed by a firing squad - U.S. Army 7th Army Soldiers on April 23, 1945, At the sports field in Florian-Geyer, in the German state of Bavaria.


In the photos: Richard led by two American soldiers to the wood stand, asked to say his last words, an American officer ties his eyes, shot by a firing squad, US Army doctors examine his body to make sure he is dead, his body is taken to the American army truck. The photos are all depicted on the back with glued stencil leaves numbered, of the Photography Department of the Seventh Army.
