ALBERT SPEER
(1905 - 1981) Nazi German architect and Minister of Armaments and War Production, convicted of war crimes at Nuremberg. T.L.S. in English on his personal letterhead, 1p. large 4to., Heidelberg, Apr. 19, 1980, answering the questions of a collector interested in purchasing his war-date sketches. In part: 'With regard to your queries: It should, of course, read '...Hitler designed [boldly underlined] in my presence'. The sketches are not initialed or signed by Hitler...a descriptive statement outlining circumstances will accompany each sketch. A sample is enclosed (not present)...together with their individual prices...' Speer signs at the conclusion, adding a hand-inked postscript: 'P.S. Please, return those photographs'. Light central folds, else fine.
