Philippine Insurrection - WWI Officer Medal Badge Group
Large group of insignia, medals, and other pieces to Major Harrie A. Douglass of Pennsylvania. He served from 1899-1901 in the 43rd US Infantry during the Philippine Insurrection, and then again from 1918-20 as an Ordnance Officer in the US. The lot includes his numbered Philippine Insurrection medal (M No. 316), WWI Victory medal, rare 8th Corps US Volunteers badge, 8th Corps VFW medal, 1913 Civi War Reunion medal (his father or other relative may have been a Civil War veteran), Declaration of Independence large 1800's breast ribbon, Harrisburg, PA WWI Victory Medal, Fitchburg, MA WWI Victory Medal, Reserve Officer Association early medal with wrap broach, numbered Medallic Arts Co. produced Military Order of the World War medal, a Pennsylvania championship medal hand engraved with his name, an American Society of Military Engineers medal made by Balfour with his name engraved on the back (medal was made from a captured German 42 CM howitzer), Early Meyer US and Quartermaster insignia, Bailey, Banks, & Biddle Bronze Major rank, and other misc. medals, pins, buttons, and items as shown. Comes in a period carrying box. Also with some copied research to include a service history document from Pennsylvania, and copies of newspaper articles.
