Paint on canvas. Large cubist style figure painting depicts water-carriers resting.
Stunning coloration; the composition gives a feel of warmth and rest. The people in traditional dress with their water jars beside them, take a moments respite from their labors. Signed Portocarrero lower right. This piece may be attributed to Jose Portocarrero, a Peruvian artist. Housed in gilt frame. 30"H x 44.5"W, sight size. Minor missing paint spot.
