Ten Commandments / Tenth Commandment / Noah's Ark
Lot containing 3 antique engravings:
1. Original woodcut from 16th century book, depicting Moses holding the Tablets of the Covenant. It is taken from a non Jewish book, and so the first Tablet has, in Hebrew the first 3 commandments, and the second Tablet has the "Shema Yisrael". The rest of the page is in Latin. It is taken from Munster's Cosmography, published in Germany in several edition during the 16th century. Size at least 27X19. Margins of the page are inside a cardboard frame and were not examined.
2. Original antique engraving, from an unknown book, depicting the Tenth Commandment - Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house. The engraving shows two men next to a large house. The Biblical phrase is written under the illustration in Hebrew, Greek, Latin and German. The page is 24X16 cm, the engraving is 13.5X12.5 cm.
3. Original antique engraving of Noah in front of the Ark, with couples of animals ascending it. On the upper part of the engraving are illustrations of two antique coins with inscriptions in Greek. 24.5X17.5 cm.
All three are in very good condition, the first two are in cardboard frames, and the third is laid on cardboard by adhesive tape.
לוט 3 תחריטים עתיקים: 1. חיתוך עץ מקורי מתוך ספר עתיק מהמאה ה-16, המראה את משה רבנו אוחז בלוחות הברית. התחריט לקוח מספר לא יהודי, וכך כולל לוח אחד, בעברית, את שלושת הדיברות הראשונות בעוד השני כולל את קריאת שמע. שאר העמוד - בלטינית. העמוד לקוח מתוך הספר "קוסמוגרפיה" של המלומד מונסטר, שיצא בגרמניה במספר מהדורות במאה ה-16. לפחות 27 19/ס"מ. שולי הדף נמצאים מתחת למסגרת הקרטון ולא נבדקו.
