Shulchan Aruch HaRav, by Rebbe Shneur Zalman of Liadi – the Baal HaTanya. [Sudylkiv, 1826]. Six parts in six volumes. Only edition with the approbation by R. Mordechai of Chernobyl.
This edition was printed almost leaf by leaf, line by line, after the first edition. This is the first edition of sections 175-176, laws of blessings.
The first edition was printed in 1814-1816 in Shklow and Kopust (Belarus), and not all its volumes reached Ukraine. The present edition was long-awaited by the people of Ukraine and by R. Mordechai of Chernobyl, as he attests in his enthusiastic approbation.
Several signatures and handwritten glosses in vol. IV.
Vol. I: [4], 1-193, 197-200, 181-188, 209-319 leaves. Vol. II: [1], 256, 261-377 leaves. Vol. III: [4], 180, 185-192, 189-252, 213-220, 261-268 leaves. Vol. IV: [2], 29, 33-249 leaves. Vol. V: [1], 226, 229-254, 257-288 leaves. Vol. VI: [1], 66 leaves. Approx. 18 cm. Condition varies, good-fair. Stains, including dampstains. Worming, affecting text (extensive worming to vol. IV, with significant damage to text). Tears and wear. Open tears, affecting text (with damage to title page borders), repaired in part. Stamps and inscriptions. New bindings (most are non-uniform leather bindings).
