This is a magnificent early edition of Shnei Luchot HaBrit with an illustrated poem by the author and an especially lengthy approbation by the gaon, the kabbalist Rabbi Naftali Katz, author of Semichat Chachamim, given specifically for this edition. The book Hakdamas Vavei HaAmudim by the author's son, Rabbi Sheftel Horowitz, appears at the end with a separate title page.

R' Moshe Chalfin-Lipchitz (died 1831), was a talmid of the Kozhnitzer Magid and the Chozeh of Lublin and was the father in law of R' Menachem Mendel of Kotzk and R' Yitzchok Meir Alter of Gur (Chidushei Ha’Rim).
