Handwritten Torah commentary by the kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Shabazi
The holy handwriting of the great Kabbalist Rashash – Rabbi Shalom Shabazi. Very rare! Mid-17th century. Part of his Chemdat Yamim commentary on the Torah.
Rashas was the greatest Yemenite poet, an exemplary and greatly admired figure among Yemenite Jewry.
Blessed with a brilliant mind, he studied all aspects of Torah, Mishna, Gemara, Midrash and early poskim and compositions. He was well-versed in Kabbala, Zohar and other Kabbalistic works that reached him. The hundreds of poems he wrote earned a special place among Yemenite sages.
