Signature of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld as the officiating rabbi. The names of the witnesses and the first and last names of the bride and groom are likely also in the handwriting of Rabbi Sonnenfeld.
The Gaon Rabbi (1849-1933) was the undisputed spiritual leader of haredi Jewry in Eretz Israel. He was a student of the Ktav Sofer at Pressburg yeshiva and a student of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Shaag, the rabbi of Kobersdorf. Rabbi Sonnenfeld made Aliya to Jerusalem in 1873 and gained renown as one of the greatest Torah scholars, with vast wisdom of the revealed and hidden knowledge, charity and sanctity.
