Classic: Sefer Olelos Efraim, Prague 1619. Rare Second Edition with Additions by the Author.

A complete copy of Sefer Olelos Efraim, second edition, printed at Prague in 1619. Olelos Efraim which contains Mussar and Derashos for Yomim Tovim. It was written by the 'Klei Yakar' R. Efraim Lunchsitz who was the Rabbi of Prague and a disciple of the MaHarshal. This work was first published in Lublin in 1590, and has since been a classic in every Jewish home.

The printing of this edition had begun during the author’s lifetime, although only completed in 1620, one year after his death. It was corrected from the author’s copy, as stated on the title page: “Printed for the second time here in Prague… and was corrected from the actual Sefer of the Gaon, who corrected it with many corrections which he added during his old age…” On the final leaf, the printer adds more detail about this second printing which was completed only after the author’s death as mentioned above: “While he was still alive, he pushed me to complete this Sefer and work diligently.”

In overall very good condition. First two leaves professionally restored with no loss of text. Paper slightly browned as in all Prague editions.

140 pp.

Vinograd, Prague 281.
