Rare: The Krakow Talmud - Tractates Megillah and Taanis, Krakow 1603.
A complete copy of Tractates Megillah and Taanis printed in Krakow in 1603. The Krakow edition is a rare and uncommon edition of the Talmud, and it is one of the first to be printed in Eastern Europe in the 17th century. Unlike most editions of the Talmud modeled after the Bomberg Talmud, this edition is actually modeled after that of his competitor, Antonio Giustiniani.
A very rare and important edition of the Talmud. Complete copies of Tractates from the order of Mo’ed are especially rare and sought after.
In overall good condition. Some pages professionally restored, occasionally with loss of text. Worming seen on some leaves, sometimes affecting text. Ta’anis lacking title page.
