Extremely Rare: "Netzach Yisrael" - Published by She'erit HaPleitah. Three Issues. Munich, 1948

Netzach Yisrael - Va'ad Hatzalah's education department's monthly journal on strengthening religion, "the glory of She'erit HaPleitah in the German exile." Munich, 1948. Yiddish with some Hebrew. Color paper jackets. Fascinating articles from leading rabbis, some of whom were murdered in the Holocaust, and some of whom were Hatzalah activists. Rare pictures of Holocaust survivors.

These are the first three issues (Iyar, Sivan, Av) dedicated to education, Shabbat and strengthening religion, respectively. (Another issue was published, the fourth and final, not included here.)

In the Sivan issue, after receiving the joyous news that the State was established in Iyar, this news was printed on the back of the title page under a large headline: "Long live the State of Israel" with illustrations of two flags and pictures of the gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog and others.

The excitement felt among Holocaust survivors at the establishment of the State was very great, possibly even greater than the joy felt in the Land of Israel. Most of the survivors had nowhere to go home to, and others did not want to return. The few that did were received with alienation and hatred from their non-Jewish neighbors.

Very rare issues.

The first [3] issues are complete. 29.5 cm.

Very fine condition. Minimal aging stains. Dry paper.
