Group of [4] Issues of HeChalutz - the Extreme Journal by the Maskilim, 1861-1880

Collection including [4] booklets of the HeChalutz journal - one of the most extreme journals ever published by the maskilim, edited by the maskil Yehoshua Heschell Schorr. Breslau-Frankfurt-am-Main-Prague, 1861-1880.

This journal was edited by Yehoshua Heschel Schorr, who was a famous maskil. Many articles were printed with the overt and declared goal of justifying the Haskalah's critical methods, in its extreme form, as opposed to the Orthodox methods and those of the "moderate" enlightenment. Many maskilim rejected these words, and also printed articles and books opposed to HeChalutz. This catalog features several works opposed to HeChalutz.

The journal was printed between the years 1861-1889. There are a total of 13 booklets published. These are four of them:

* The sixth booklet - Breslau, 1861.

* The seventh booklet - Frankfurt-am-Main, 1865.

* The tenth booklet - Prague, 1877. Bound with:

* The eleventh booklet - Prague, 1880. In this booklet, there are articles printed about the 'Yerushalmi' on Seder Kodshim, as well as about the controversy regarding the book HaEshkol.

[4] booklets in three volumes. Various sizes.

Overall fine condition. One volume has individual worming perforations in about 50 leaves.
