Darkei HaEmunah. Segulah Book. The Only Book with an Approbation from the "Levver"!

"A book such as this protects a home" (Av beit din of Iasi)

Darkei Emunah - Words of Chassidut and faith to draw in and excite hearts, by Rabbi Yosef David HaKohen, av beit din of Iasi. Iasi, 1857. First edition. Segulah book for protection. The only book that bears an approbation from Rabbi Berenyu of Leova - the "Levver' - son of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin.

With the approbation of the gaon Rabbi Yeshayah Schorr, av beit din of Iasi. He writes: "While I sat in wonder next to this person, I heard the good words he taught while he was still living in Tismenitz. His sanctity is great, as well as his asceticism, purity and devotion to Torah and prayer. He taught wisdom to his people and granted blessing to them through wonderful novellae, words said in wisdom that hover over the top of the world ... in his book, one can find balm for his soul, joy for each and every Shabbat to examine and study..." He adds: "Every person who desires to honor the Torah and its scholars has a mitzvah to purchase this sacred work ... a book such as this protects a home."

The famous and controversial approbation by the son of the Admo"r of Ruzhin, the Admo"r Rabbi Dov Ber of Leova - "The Levver" -  is printed at the beginning of the book. This is the only approbation he ever gave for a book! His brother, too, the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Stefanesht, also gave an approbation for this book.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo"r Rabbi Dov Ber Friedman.
