Antique Asian Hand Embroidered Silk Robe
Antique Asian black silk hand embroidered robe. Measures 43 inches long from collar to hem, 16 inches across the shoulders, and 27 inch long sleeves. Hand embroidered flowers, butterflies, fish and more in satin stitch and forbidden stitch. Elaborate collar and sleeve fans. All embroidery is executed by hand. Garment construction is by hand and machine. Three frog closures down the front. Lining is a blue damask silk. In good condition with some small spots. Silk is shattering at the shoulders. This item was part of Laura Fisher's estate. Laura Fisher was a New York based world renowned quilt expert, dealer and author, and in offering these textiles for sale we hope to honor her legacy of style and scholarship.
