Program Book - Construction Plan of the "Bikur Cholim" Hospital in Jerusalem - Jerusalem, 1907 - Illustrations and drawings

Program book, plans for the construction of the "Bikur Cholim" hospital in Jerusalem, with illustrations in lithographic print [signed 'Barsky' in print] and drawings. Jerusalem, 1907. Hebrew and German.

At the beginning of the book, the building plan of the hospital, its size and dimensions, and later requests for donations signed in print by rabbis and prominent public figures in the Land of Israel, including Rabbi Shmuel Salant, Rabbi Yitzchak Blazer of St. Petersburg, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, Rabbi Israel Dovber Frumkin, Yoel Moshe Salomon, Rabbi Eliyahu Hazan [rabbi of the Jewish community in Alexandria, Egypt], and others.

Later on are 7 large folded sheets (42x20 cm), with illustrations of a hospital form in lithographic print and detailed architectural sketches. Additional title and introduction in German translation.

The Bikur Cholim Hospital, founded in 1867 on the border of the Jewish Quarter, moved out of the walls in 1908 due to a shortage of its old structure. The plan before us is the master plan for the new hospital in the German consulate archives.
