Mishneh Torah by the Ramban, Amsterdam, 1702 (-1704)
Rambam’s Mishne Torah in four volumes with Maggid Mishneh, Kessef Mishneh, scholarly glosses and Lechem Mishneh, with indices to the halachot.
This edition has been proofread by two Dutch rabbis: Rabbi David Nunes Torres (Vol. 1) and Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Leon – Volumes 2-3 (and perhaps also 4).
This edition is known for its importance, due to the many proofreadings that have often changed the version of the Rambam and his commentators. This edition is also the first printing in which the Lechem Mishneh commentary was divided into four parts and published at the end of each volume, based on the halachot in that volume.
At the top of volume 1 is a long dedication in Portuguese to the philanthropist Moshe of Asado. At the end of volume 4 is a poem on the sections of the books, by Rabbi Shlomo di Olivera.
Volume 1 has two title pages. The first title page is illustrated, and in the middle of the page is an illegible signature.
