Matvey Aronovich Talalaevsky (Yiddish מאָטל טאַלאַלאַיעװסקי‎ [1], 1908-1978) was a Soviet Jewish poet and writer, front-line correspondent.
During the war, he was an employee of a front-line newspaper, went from Stalingrad to Berlin. After the war, a book of wartime poems “Vi a soldier” (“In a soldier's way”, M., 1946) was published, in which the theme of the Catastrophe and heroism sounds. Together with a front-line colleague and friend, poet Z. Katz, he published books of essays and poems in Russian: “Reconnaissance in force” (1941), “Stalingrad poems” (1943), “Legend” (1946), “Soldier and Banner” (1947 ).
During the years of the destruction of Jewish culture and literature in the Soviet Union, Talalaevsky, like other figures of Jewish culture, was arrested (in the fall of 1951, he was repressed, sentenced to 10 years in prison and kept in strict regime labor camps). He served his term in Steplag. On March 19, 1954, a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, writer Maxim Rylsky, after meeting with Talalaevsky's wife Clara and his daughter Irina, turned to the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to release him and Grigory Polyanker [2].
During the uprising of May 16-June 26, 1954, Talalaevsky was in Kengir. A. I. Solzhenitsyn in The Gulag Archipelago refers M. A. Talalaevsky to the opponents of the resistance.
So in Kengir there is a whole nest of well-intentioned people (Genkin, Apfeltsweig, Talalaevsky, obviously Akoev, we don’t have any more surnames ...) [3]
In November 1954, according to a letter from Rylsky, he was released and fully rehabilitated [2].
After his release, he lived in Kyiv.
