Western Asiatic Gold and Amethyst Bead Necklace with Bull's Head Pendant
2nd-1st millennium BC
An exquisite restrung necklace composed of graduated biconical amethyst beads, interspersed with collared barrel-shaped and granulated gold beads; later large gold bull's head pendant with bulbous eyes and curved horns, granulated collars to the piercings and granulated pyramid below the mouth; hook-and-loop clasp. 48 grams, 50cm (19 1/2"). Very fine condition.

From a private Belgian collection; previously part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s.
