Byzantine Trade Weight with Cathedral
6th-9th century AD
A large tabular weight engraved to one face with a cathedral, inscribed with 'KN HL' with cross in between, the other side plain with concentric circles. 70.93 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). Fine condition.
Provenance
Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965.
