Byzantine Oil Lamp with Figural Scene
6th-7th century AD
A broad D-shaped terracotta oil lamp with lateral flange, basal ring, lug handle, filler hole and nozzle on the discus, low-relief image of a man in advancing pose with hand raised facing a leaping canine against a field of vertical lines. 90 grams, 92mm (3 5/8"). Fine condition. [No Reserve]
