Byzantine Gold Earring with Emeralds and Rubies
6th-8th century AD
A gold earring formed as a loop with emerald stud and granulated collar, ω-shaped distributor and three sets of beads including pearls, emeralds, rubies and granulated collars. 9.89 grams, 83mm (3 1/4"). Very fine condition.
Provenance
Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965.
