Islamic Ring with Gemstone
12th-13th century AD
A silver ring comprising a D-section hoop with stud to the underside, flared shoulders, rectangular bezel with applied brass(?) claws, inset table-cut carnelian with chamfered edges. 9.17 grams, 23.99mm overall, 18.22x12.88mm internal diameter (approximate size British G, USA 3 1/4, Europe 4.92, Japan 4) (1"). Fine condition.

Property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
