Islamic Silver Ring with Calligraphic Gemstone
16th century AD
A silver ring comprising a D-section hoop with ornamental detailing, ellipsoid bezel with omega-shaped details forming a claw setting, inset banded onyx cabochon with inscribed Kufic text. 16.22 grams, 32.64mm overall, 19.63mm internal diameter (approximate size British S, USA 9, Europe 20.00, Japan 19) (1 1/4"). Fine condition. A large wearable size.

Property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s.
