TRADITIONAL TRIBAL SILVER CHINESE TORQUE NECKLACE
Early 20th century. Miao/Hmong people of China, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The collar was intended for important and festive ceremonies, and as a status symbol for social class. 7 rings decorated with Repousse work in animal motifs typical of Miao and Hmong art, and characteristic spiral clasps. Presented in a matching stand. Weight approx. 1223 grams. Diameter: 42 cm.
