Yad Vashem - the six million menorah, the giant model - was designed by the great artist Zahara Shatz - daughter of Boris Shatz of the "Bezalel" Foundation
Zahra Shatz (1916 – 1999) was an Israeli sculptor, laureate of the Israel Prize for Painting and Sculpture. Daughter of the founder of "Bezalel", Boris Shatz.
In 1955 she was crowned as the winner of the Israel Prize for Painting and Sculpture. And in 1960 she designed the Yad Vashem lamp, later the statue was adopted as the symbol of Yad Vashem.
