Aharon Reuveni - A Beautiful Three-Page Letter - 1927
At the beginning of the letter, Reuveni mentions Brenner: "He told me after he read 'Al Yad HaKir': 'You must write novels, ' and indeed I wrote after that." He then goes on to describe details about his writing. "I am sending you a copy of my poem that you know, which still flutters and demands its place under the sun, so that you may read it at your leisure and see if there is any point in the words of malicious people (and you among them) due to the mismatch of rhythm and weight."
He then proposes to establish an academy for fine literature, "private, like Goncourt in France, but one to which only those with exceptional talent will be admitted."
Aharon Reuveni (1886-1971) was a Hebrew writer and translator, winner of the Bialik Prize for fine literature.
