Adolf Hitler Signed Portrait Engraving in Period Frame
Large early framed AH portrait print - a steel engraving based on a drawing by RW - (possibly Rudolf Warnecke), signed by AH in pencil. On the reverse: \\\"AH’s visit to Count Solms at Solms Castle near Arnsburg Monastery in early 1931, Personally signed by AH. - HANNS GOAAR”. The mentioned “COUNT SOLMS” is probably Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach. He was an aviator in the 1920s. Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach was a member of the Party and a member of the state parliament in Hesse from 1931 to 1933. After the seizure of power by the N*DAP, he was theater director. In 1933 he became artistic director at the Dessau Friedrich Theater and in 1934 at the Berlin Volksbühne . In 1936 he was director of the theater on Nollendorfplatz in Berlin. He died by suicide. Overall frame size is 11.5 inches x 13.5 inches. The portrait is around 9 inches x 11 inches.
