Army Infantry Officer Cap (Schirmmutze).
A example of a privately purchased German Infantry Officer’s Schirmutze.
Original era manufacture. A wartime quality hat, doeskin feldgrau wool top, dark green wool band with white wool piping.
The insignia is aluminium alloy with a chin cord in twisted aluminium wire sitting below the wreath and resting on a black vukanfibre peak a subtly raised lip near the forward edge.
The Officer’s bullion chin cords are excellent and securely affixed to the cap via a pair of small silver pebbled aluminum buttons.
The interior of the cap also has a wide, natural leather.
The underside of the visor is finished in has two colors, brown and green (repair?). Manual stitching of the visor to the cap.
The lining is a "golden" coloured silk. There is a rhomboid shaped clean moisture shield with maker information that reads “ Kaspar Seitz Feine Uniformen Wurzburg Weissenburgstr. 56
