A pin from the election of the Volkstag, i.e. the parliament of the Free City of Gdańsk won by the NSDAP - April 7, 1935
Volkstag (German: People's Assembly) - the parliament of the Free City of Gdańsk.
It consisted initially (first-third term) of 120, and then (fourth-sixth term) of 72 deputies elected in five-adjectival elections for a period of 4 years.
Active voting rights were available to citizens who turned 20, passive - 25 years of age.
The peculiarity of the Volkstag was that it sat as a permanent body, and not like other parliaments in certain closed sessions. The members of the Volkstag elected the Senate, which exercised executive power.
