Art Deco Vase with Jewish Designs - Lodz WWII
This beautiful Art Deco vase with Jewish designs dates from the period around 1920-1930 and was purchased in Lodz (Litzmannstadt). Seller claimed that the family kept this from the moment of seizure of their former Jewish home in 1940 ! Germany resettled residents of different neighborhoods of the city to the ghetto. The resulting empty homes most often took over the German informers. Very nicely done motives - Minor with the angels at the sides and Two lions of Judah with a plaque Decalogue. Vase is in very good condition but has minimal damage on the base.
