Estate of the Jew Yozef Cygelberg: Torah cover and books that belonged to this Jewish man from Lodz. Yozef Cygelberg was born in Lodz, Poland in 1888. He was a merchant and married to Sheindl. Prior to WWII he lived in the city of Lodz and during the war he was captured in the same Polish city and was murdered during the Shoah. The set comprises two Jewish books printing in Lublin 1911 with stamp of this man and also a very nice and old silk Torah cover or cloth cover beautifully decorated with high quality hand-made embroidery dedicated by his wife in 1935. The cover is customised with the name of Yozef Cygelberg wife and Jewish motifs.Find in Lodz (Litzmannstadt )under floor in private appartament few month ago with many other Jewish items.
