Large Anthology of Hymns. Morocco, 19th Century
Large manuscript comprising over 120 hymns from leading Moroccan songwriters in honor of various events, holidays and festivals, and in honor of rabbinic leaders of Morocco.
Beautiful upright script. Judeo-Arabic title at the top of each hymn, some with a decorative border. Isolated hymns are in Judeo-Arabic. Indices at the beginning of the manuscript.
Approximately [190] leaves, 15x10 cm. Orderly manuscript.
Moderate-fine condition. Aging and damp stains. Erasures. Minimal tears. Detached leaves. Apparently lacking Leaf 1. Dismantled original leather binding, without spine.
