Letter to Austrian Jews from the Mapa"i Party, a Call to Join the Party and a Registration Form. Vienna, February-March 1949
One side of the form declares (in German) that the State of the Jews is a fait accompli, and that several weeks previously (on 25 January, 1949) Israeli citizens went to polling stations for the first time, and there they proved their political maturity and wisdom by giving a large majority to the Mapa"i party, so it is worthwhile for Austrian Jewry to join the party as well, thereby proving their support for the idea of the Zionist and socialist state.
The second side bears the names of the letter's senders, representatives of Mapa"i party, Ben-Gurion, Sharett, Eliezer Kaplan, David Remez, Golda Meyerson (later Meir), Zalman Shazar and Dov Yosef.
On the right side is the party registration form, under the name: Ichud Olami (Poalei Tziyon Hitachdut) B'Austria."
