Pnei Mevin - The Admo"r of Kaliv's Personal Copy from Before the Holocaust
"Hoshanah plucked of cheek, hoshana embraces and cleaves to You"
Pnei Mevin al HaTorah by Rabbi Nethaniel Fried. Beregszász, 1927. First edition. Chilling owner's notation, signatures and stamps. Sacred pedigree copy.
At the top of the title page, there is a chilling owner's notation in the hand of the Admo"r of Kaliv, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Taub. The Rebbe wrote this notation when he was an 18-year-old youth, in the burning fire that was Europe, at the height of the terrible Holocaust. All the members of his family were murdered and the Rebbe himself underwent unspeakable tortures when the Nazis conducted their shocking experiments on his body. As a result of those Satanic experiments, the Rebbe's beard fell out and he was childless until his passing. So wrote the Rebbe, who was attached with his deep faith and love for the Creator of the world, a faith that no power in the world could shake, despite the terrible Divine hiddenness, "My Creator and my Rock, my Savior and my Light ... on the eve of Wednesday of the week the Torah portion Emor is read, 1942, I, the youth Mendel Taub, son of the gaon and tzaddik, the Av Beit Din of Razleh, z"l."
Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Taub of Kaliv.
Additional owner's stamps and signatures: "Yissachar Ber Rosenbaum, son of the tzaddik of Rachov, shlit"a, grandson of the rabbi of Nadvorna, zy"a, presently in Ober Visheve"; "The youth Avraham Shisha Segal."
