Rare Joint Letter Signed by Leading Dayanim of Jerusalem. 1930s.

Rare joint ruling signed by giants of Jerusalem: The gaon Rabbi Tzvi Pesach Frank, the gaon of Teplik, the gaon Rabbi Y. M. Horowitz, the gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Ze'ev (R' Velvel) Mintzberg and the gaon Rabbi Y. P. Bernstein.

Court ruling written on the 'Beit Din HaGadol L'Kol Makhellot HaAshkenazim's official stationery - the gaon Rabbi Tzvi Pesach Frank's beit din, who join together at this time with the remainder of the dayanim who have signed on this ruling. We will point out that the combination of the rabbis before us is exceptionally rare due to their different political affiliations.

In their letter, the rabbis come out strongly against Babylonian slaughter and don't hold back from using the most extreme expressions: "This ritual slaughter is infamously undisciplined"; "Causing many to stumble by consuming neveilot and treifot." They were not satisfied until they had placed a ban on anyone who markets meat from this type of slaughter: "And anyone who transgresses this warning shall be publicized and shall not join any davar she'bikedushah and he shall be distanced from all community matters."

[1] leaf paper, 21x28 cm. Official stationery, entirely handwritten and signed by the dayanim and stamped by the beit din.
Fine-very fine condition: Aging stains. Fold marks. Filing perforations.
