'Pokeach Ivrim' - Ibn Ezra's Sefer HaGoralot. Balkan Countries, 18th-19th Centuries

Sefer HaGoralot - for predicting the future, attributed to the great sage, Rabbi Avraham ibn Ezra, including instructions as to how to conduct the lots.

The book has several names: Sefer HaGoralot, Pokeach Ivrim [פוקח עיוורים], and there are prints in which it is called Pokeach Ivrim [פוקח עברים] (such as that of Amsterdam, 1781).

Books of lots have always been an important branch of practical Kabbalah, to reveal the hidden and predict the future. "And it is a great secret, tried-and-true, for Jewish sages, and will tell all petitioners what they want to know." There are those who say that this goral assisted Anshei Knesset HaGedolah, and that they hid it from subsequent generations, and only after the Greek decrees were abolished from the Jewish people was it revealed to select individuals.

[17] leaves, 20 cm. Each leaf is written on only one side. Light, high-quality paper.

Fine condition: Dampstains. Worming perforations. The last leaf bears lightly restored tears with a tiny lack to the text. New semi-parchment binding.
