Autograph by the Chacham Bashi, Rabbi Ya'akov Entebbe, Renowned Rabbi of Damascus
Two large leaves [16 columns, approximately 1,000 lines] comprising two complete lengthy sermons handwritten by the Chacham Bashi of Damascus, Rabbi Ya'akov Entebbe, renowned rabbi of Damascus in the period of the infamous blood libel, during which he was imprisoned and released with the efforts of Sir Moshe Montefiore.
Sermon from the Torah portion VaYeshev, 1830, and another sermon, undated. The sages and wealthy citizens of Damascus are mentioned in the sermons. Each sermon is written on a large leaf, in two columns, on both sides of the leaf. The sermons have not been printed.
