Deep work about the life of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the 'Ba'al HaTanya.' The first volume deals with 'Toldot HaRav' and the second with 'Shitat HaRav.' Picture of the Ba'al HaTanya and musical notes for one of his melodies. Title page in German parallel to the Hebrew title page.
In the foreword by the publisher, Rabbi Shmuel ben Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, he writes that previous books were just stories of wonder, true or untrue, from the Alter Rebbe, in which [the authors] imagined that they fulfilled their obligation. However, this publisher clarified all the required details, including the reliability of the stories and their sources, gathered important documents, and only on this basis did he write his book. In his presentation of the stories, he fully supervised their complete credibility, and wrote them in an objective manner, without additions or hypotheses, or his own opinions and perspectives.
It is told in the name of the Admo"r the Rasha"b, that he said the author "understood well" the Alter Rebbe's ways and methods, and he appreciated this book.
