Large, Impressive 'Mizrach' - Handmade Parchment Cutout. 20th Century
Especially large parchment cutout - handcrafted artwork on parchment, with floral frames integrated with gilt paint.
This 'Mizrach' is based on the mishnah in Avot "Be courageous as a leopard, light as an eagle, swift as a gazelle, and strong as a lion to do the will of your Father in Heaven, " and it includes stunning cutouts of lions and eagles at center, and leopards and gazelles in the frame.
It is rare to find such large and precise cutouts such as this.
Size: 63.5x51 cm. Framed: 62.5x79.5 cm.
Moderate-fine condition. Blemishes and light tears. Faded ink.
